RICHARD ‘DICK’ BOUDREAU It is with deepest sorrow that the family announces the passing of Richard Boudreau, husband, father, grandfather, and friend of many. Richard passed peacefully in his sleep after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan; children, Bradley (Therese), Brent (Donna), and Lori-Ann; and grandchildren, Serena, Aaron, and Taylor. He also is survived by his mother, Dora; brother, Jim (Lillian); sister, Elsie (George); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur; and brother, John. Dick was born in Fort Frances, Ont. and moved to Winnipeg, Man. to raise a family and pursue his ambition to become a locomotive engineer in 1961. Dick spent 41 years creating friendships among his co-workers before retiring in January, 1993. He spent much of his time in the “enjoyment phase” of his life travelling to the winter house in Texas, and managing and umpiring teams for the “Flashbacks” Baseball Seniors League. His generosity and commitment to honour his family will never be forgotten by his family members and those who knew him best. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 325 Rosseau Ave. E., with Fr. Gerry Ward officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dick may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
