LAURA MARGARET KENNY Laura Margaret Kenny passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005. Marg was born in Enfield, Sask. on June 18, 1918, moving to Northwestern Ontario in her early years. On Nov. 4, 1938, Marg married Tom Kenny. After many moves with Tom’s work with the Department of Highways, they settled in Fort Frances, Ont. in 1954. Tom predeceased her in April, 1991. Marg was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, and over the years sat on many committees and worked very hard for the betterment of the church. She was an avid member of St. John’s A.C.W., and her most favourite events were the harvest supper and the Valentine’s lunch. After Tom passed away, Marg’s love for reading and writing took a turn for writing and she joined the writing club at the library. She wrote a book based on Tom’s life with the Department of Highways, which was completed in March, 2001. Mom’s greatest joys in life were her grandsons, Tom and Todd, whom she supported and encouraged in all of their endeavours. Mom’s great-grandchildren, Brett and Abby, brought a special sparkle to her eyes. Mom was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She always had time for a sewing project, a craft project, a chat, and cup of tea. She will be in the hearts of Tom, Bette Sue, Tom, Todd, Shannon, Brett, and Abby forever. Marg also will be in the hearts of her sister, Anita, and her husband, Jim Brown, and family of Dryden, Ont.; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bowes and family of Dryden, Ont., Evelyn Ayers and family of Winnipeg, Man., Marion Ayers and family of Pemberton, B.C., and the Doman family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 360 Church St., Fort Frances, Ont. Honourary pallbearers will be the ladies of St. John’s A.C.W. In memoriam donations may be made to the St. John’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
