WARREN ‘MAC’ FRANK McINTOSH Warren “Mac” Frank McIntosh, 73, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005 at the Falls Memorial Hospital with family at his side. Warren was born Feb. 9, 1932 in Abby, Sask. and moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1945. On Nov. 8, 1952, he was united in marriage to the former Anita Lovisa at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Frances. They moved to International Falls in 1956. Warren’s employment years were varied. He worked for Boise Cascade in International Falls and served as president of the local I.W.A.W. 33 IAMAW. Later, he ventured out into the business world, where he owned and operated Mac’s Body Shop and the Falls Shoe Shop. It was during this time that he took a keen interest and was instrumental in the Falls downtown beautification program. Warren’s personality and his ability to communicate with all walks of life made him a natural-born salesman. He sold Metropolitan Life Insurance, Watkins Products, Fuller Brushes, Swipe Products, and Electrolux Vacuum cleaners, in which he was known as the “Electrolux Man” in and around our area. To sum it up best, he could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo. Warren’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching softball, and was always competing in horseshoes or lawn darts at family gatherings—and he never like to lose. Warren was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls. He was predeceased by his father, Frank McIntosh. Warren is survived by his wife, Anita; mother, Alma McIntosh (Lee) of Vancouver, B.C.; sons, Brad (Patsy) McIntosh of St. Cloud, Mn. and John (Brenda) McIntosh of Duluth, Mn.; and daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Kostiuk of Int’l Falls, Mn. and Patti (Bill) Wilson of Fort Frances, Ont. Also surviving are a sister, Karen (David) Kartz of Vancouver, B.C.; six grandchildren, Tricia and Samantha Kostiuk, Jacob and Justin McIntosh, and Lyndsi and Nikki Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls. The family would prefer memorials in Warren’s memory. “Mac—you fought a tough battle. We are really going to miss you deeply, but you are now at peace.”
