KEITH W. GATE It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Wayne Gate, 55, announces his sudden passing on Feb. 28, 2005. Keith was the son of Cecil and Mabel Gate. He was raised in Bergland, Ont., and attended Bergland elementary school and Rainy River High School. His first job was at the Woodland Freezer in Nestor Falls. He later was employed at Canada Safeway in Fort Frances as meat manager for more than 30 years, and for the last two years at Nestor Falls Fly-in Outposts. Keith’s life revolved around his family, friends, and the great outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, and was a great prankster. He loved to cook and could always be heard singing or whistling. Keith saw more walking around the block than most would see travelling the world! He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Darren (Cheri) and granddaughter, Chloe; daughter, Jackie McCreedy (Jamie) and grandsons, Matthew and Dayson; step-son, Rick Lawres (Sonya); and mother-in-law, Mona McTaggart. He also is survived by his brothers, Chuck (Dorothy), Larry (Diane), Alfred (Sheila), and Fred (Nancy); sisters, Ann (Joe) Carswell, Joyce (Del) Jensen, and Elaine (Don) Beyak; sisters-in-law, Mert Gate, Julie (Art) Enns, and Cheryl (Bruce) Goldamer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Mabel; sister, Doris (McNally); brothers, Gary and Ron; and step-father-in-law, Hugh McTaggart. A small family memorial service was held March 4, 2005. For those of you who were lucky enough to have known Keith, and wish to pay tribute to the kind and wonderful man, friend and acquaintance that he was, we ask you to do this for him: Catch a big trout, make someone laugh, give the ones you love a big bear hug, and tell your Dad you love him. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
