KATHERINE (KATIE) CORDA Katherine (Katie) Corda, nee Kazina, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at her home for the past two-and-a-half years, the Charleswood Convalescent Home, at the age of 89 years. She was widowed after 65 years of marriage to husband, Joseph, in 1999. She was born in Tyndall, Man. on Jan. 26, 1916. Throughout her life, she was many things, including homemaker, farmer, store clerk, and real estate secretary for her husband. She loved to garden and fish, and both she and Joe received Master Angler awards. She is survived by her two daughters, Gloria Wood and Rose Beaubier (Peter); two sons, Stanley and Arnold Corda; grandchildren, Kathryn Makl (Jeff), Donald Wood (Mona), Karen McLachlan (Brad), Laura Wilkie (Mark), Robin Corda, and Carol Corda; and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Travis Makl, Eric and Lisa Wood, Zakary McLachlan, and Christopher Corda. She also is survived by two sisters, Julia Pfiefer (Fred) and Cecelia Mikoliew (Gordon); sister in-law, Mona Corda; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. Ignatius Church (Corydon & Stafford) in Winnipeg, Man. on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Internment at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer in memoriums to the charity of your choice. Special thank you to staff and caregivers at Charleswood Care Home for compassion and care of mom for the past two-and-a-half years.
