Rosmairi Theresa Evelyn Strand (Reid) Rosmairi Theresa Evelyn Strand (Reid) passed away peacefully at home in International Falls, Mn. on Sunday, April 3, 2005. She was born in Beausejour, Man. on March 21, 1953 and was lovingly chosen by Adam and Mary Maskerine six months later. John Reid Sr. adopted Rosmairi when he married Mary later. Rosmairi is survived by her husband, John Strand, whom she married Dec. 16, 1972; daughters, Nicole Skallman (Alan) and their children, Kaysha, Kylie, and Lane, of International Falls, Mn., and Traci Strand (Todd Grundmeyer) and their children, Hunter and Chance, of Reno, Nev. Also surviving are her brother, John Maskerine of Thompson, Man.; step-brothers, John Reid Jr. (Marie) of Ottawa, Ont., Pat Reid (Maureen) of Toronto, Ont., and Michael Reid (Joyce) of Schrieber, Ont.; step-sister, Mary; step-mother, Virginia Reid of Fort Frances, Ont.; and mother-in-law, Gertrude Strand of Fort Frances, Ont. During her short life on this Earth, Rosmairi worked for Dr. Stinson and the Times in Fort Frances. She then worked for the Daily Journal in International Falls. In July, 2001, she fulfilled her lifelong dream as she graduated from the licensed practical nursing program at Rainy River Community College in International Falls. She then worked as a nurse at Ranier Roost before her cancer struck. A private memorial for friends and family will be conducted Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church in International Falls. In memoriam donations may be given in Rosmairi’s honour to the Koochiching Hospice.
