POWERS, Nelson (retired Master Corporal) - At his residence North Bay, Ontario, Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the age of 67 years. Nelson Powers was the beloved husband of Jackie (nee Lavoie) and dearly loved father of Debra Stewart (Rob) of Winnipeg, Donna Powers of Ottawa, Doreen Follett (Cliff) of North Bay and John Powers (Wendy) both of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren Daniel and Jessica Stewart, Meghan and Evan Darroch, Brittany and Tyler Follett and Danika and Cassia Powers and step-father Gordon Smith of Timmins. Dear brother of Lynne Mahon (Ken) of Timmins and Reid Powers (Paulette) of Kapuskasing. Predeceased by his parents Rose Powers-Smith and John Powers. Nelson was an airframe technician employed with the Canadian Air Force for 33 years and a long time member of the Air Force Alliance. Family receiving friends at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, today, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted by David Lock of Christ Church at the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. Luncheon will follow in the reception lounge. Cremation at Forest Lawn Crematorium.
