ANSARA, Albert 1910-2005 - It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Albert Ansara on Sunday February 6, 2005 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his wife Mema (1996) by his brother Naser of Sarnia and his sister Saidie of Lebanon. He was a loving father to his son Michael (Valentina) of North Bay, his daughter Catherine Hutton (Art) of Sault Ste. Marie, a dear brother to William of Timmins, a cherished grandfather to Michael, Christine, Ryan, Mathew and Chad and a devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. Among his many accomplishments in his younger days, Albert was responsible for opening one of the first athletic clubs in Timmins. He excelled as a weight lifter and was asked to try-out for the Canadian Olympic Team. As a life-long resident of Timmins, many will remember him as a downtown merchant, operating Venetian Sweets on Third Avenue. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
