DEROCHE, Barnabae William (Barney) - Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the age of 69, Friday, February 25th, 2005 with loved ones at his side. Survived by his beloved partner and best friend of 23 years Joan Prudhomme and her family Denise (Guy) Horth, Sharon (Rock) Lapointe, loving Papa to Stephanee and Danielle Horth, Sam and Eric Lapointe. Father of three children, Tammy, Melinda and Steven Deroche and seven grandchildren. Dear brother of Jacqueline Teal (Jake), Mary Larocque (Gerry) and Linda Giroux (Richard), all of Fort Erie, Betty Amyotte (Lou), Evette Laporte (Emile), Debbie Giroux (Ernie) and Jim Deroche (Bernice), all of North Bay. Remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Jean and Benjamin Deroche and sisters Florence Collette, June Dietrich and Dianne Lesdow. Barney worked for the City of North Bay Parks of Recreation Department for 26 years and retired in 1994. His love for gardening and planting trees continued after he retired. The beauty of our City parks will be a remembrance of his dedicated years employed at the City. Barney had a love for music, singing and strumming his guitar. His paradise on earth was at the cottage, fishing and enjoying the beauty of many sunsets with Joan, family and friends. Visitation at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption, Monday at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
