PARKER, Norman Douglas - Formerly of Barrie and recently retired from Canadian Pipe Supply Ltd. in Toronto, Norman Parker passed away in Etobicoke on Saturday, April 23, 2005. He was 77. Mr. Parker was born in Upper Economy, Nova Scotia in 1928 and moved to North Bay in 1948. While there, he met his wife, the late Mary (Saya) Parker and they were married in 1949. He moved to Barrie in 1966 to open sales and service operations for Bombardier Inc. In 2002, he left Barrie to be closer to his family and career and he took residence in Markham and later in Port Credit at the Regency Retirement Residence. Mr. Parker is lovingly remembered by his children, Steven ( Shirley) of Halifax, Karl (Allison) of Vancouver, Calvin of Vancouver, Norma (Wayne) of Wakefield, Quebec and Marty (Monique) of Port Credit. He will be missed fondly by his sister, Inez (Bus) Ehrhardt of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and his grandchildren, Jaiden, Corsen and Kaelen Parker of Port Credit, Rob (Judy) Furlong of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and his great-grandchildren, Michael and Jason Furlong of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Mary of Barrie, son, Neil of Barrie, parents, Chesley and Gladys Parker of Truro, Nova Scotia and siblings, Bernard of Hanover, Ontario, Gerald of Montreal, and Joyce of Halifax. Friends are welcome to call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, at 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, today, April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
