LAFOND, Simon (1947 - 2005) - After a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family, Simon passed away at the West Nipissing General Hospital on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the age of 58 years. Beloved husband of Hélène Lafond (née Legault). Born in Field, son of the late Ernest Lafond of Gracefield, Quebec and the late Lina Aubin of Field. Loving father of Paul Lafond (Samantha Andrusiek) and cherished grandfather of Kassandra, Cynthia and Hannah of Sturgeon Falls; Luc Lafond (Jane Dedo) and Adrianna of Sturgeon Falls; Chantal Potvin (Marc) and Julie and Samuel, and Amanda and Natalie (stepgrandchildren). Brother of Irène Allard (Gilles) of Field, and Fernand of Garson. Predeceased by his brothers, Gérard, Clément and Joseph and his sister, Jeannette. Simon was a loving father and caring grandfather who will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who knew him. The family will receive relatives and friends at the THÉORæT FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Reverend Gérald Lajeunesse at the Sacré Coeur Church, on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment Field Public Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged
