HUMPHREY, MAVIS ELIZABETH On June 16, 2005, Mavis Humphrey died at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB, at the age of 92. She was born in Andover, NB, the second daughter of Sarah (Tibbits) and Dr. Gilbert Peat. The family moved to Saint John, NB, and she attended Macdonald College in Guelph and Traphagen School of Fashion in New York. She married John Allison of Saint John, had a son, and after her husband's death in 1948, married Professor Richard Humphrey of Saint John and Hoboken, New Jersey. In later years, she divided her time between Fredericton and a cottage at Maces Bay, which she loved, where she enjoyed seeing friends and family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Frances, and both her husbands. She is survived by her son John, nieces Nancy Mackenzie (David), Joan Titus (Joe), and numerous great nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, on Wednesday, June 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Anne's Chapel of Ease, Christ Church (Parish) Church, 245 Westmorland Street, Fredericton, on Thursday, June 23, at 2 pm, with committal of the ashes at a later date.
