Brian Gordon Shano November 04, 1950 - June 23, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) SHANO, Brian Gordon - It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our cherished father, brother and loving husband, Brian Gordon Shano, 54, of Lower Sackville, who passed away June 23, 2005, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Albert and Thelma (Robar) Shano. His family brought him joy, to whom he was completely devoted to. Our dad exemplified every aspect of life's true meaning. He was selfless, respectful and loving. He has the kindest soul. Our dad lived to laugh and his laughter was contagious. Brian was a dedicated employee of Oland Brewery for over 30 years. He was an avid hockey fan, especially of the Montreal Canadiens and the Halifax Mooseheads. Brian was a child at heart, especially when he was riding roller coasters with Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gloria (Connolly); daughters, Rachel Shano-White (Duncan White), Upper Tantallon; Bryna Shano, at home; special grandson, Taylor Shano, at home; brothers, Jack (Valerie) Robar, Halifax; Wayne (Susan) Shano, Lower Sackville; Barry Shano, Dartmouth; mother-in-law, Lucy Connolly; nephews, Michael and Mark; nieces, Kathy, Shannon, and Alexandre; sister-in-law, Sharon Connolly (Bob Pardy); brother-in-law, Roy (Laureen) Connolly. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, from 2-4 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Lower Sackville. A reception will follow in the family home. Family flowers only.
