COLLINS, John Edwin The family of John Edwin Collins celebrates with grateful hearts his long and meaningful life. On June 10, 2005 John passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord in his 81st year after a long, courageous and determined struggle with cancer. Beloved husband of Bertha Nelson (Hyland) and Helen (Lyon) Collins (2002), and Shirley Edwards (1989). Loving father of Kathy and Rick Dutot, Eddie and Cathy Collins, Cheryl and John Elder, Rosemary Collins and Jim White, Henry and Tina Edwards, Johnny Collins and Melonie Elder. Step-father of Bernard and Nancy Nelson and Laura Rumbles. Lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother to Florence an her husband Jack (2002) Gibbs, Chuck (2002) and his wife Bette Collins, Ida and her husband Lyle Smith, Lillian and her husband John (1985) Summerfield, Edna (2003) and her husband Roger (1982) Murchison, Anna Mae and her husband Ian (1999) Starrett, and Stella and her husband Joe Murdoch. John was a past member of the Orangeman Lodge, served on the Stewards Board of the United Church, taught Sunday School, and a past Executive member of the P.C. Party. John was an entrepreneur and was well known under his business names J & M Mechanical and Unique Candies (for Kittycorn Products). Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dolores Sikari and the nurses at St. Elizabeth's Health Centre and Leamington Hospital. Visiting at the Hammond Funeral Home, 318 Erie Street South, Leamington (326-8423) on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service from the Funeral Home to celebrate John's life will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Linda Blair officiating. Interment Olinda United Church Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations made by cheque to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Hospice of Windsor and Essex County (connected to the cause), St. Elizabeth's Health Centre or Trinity (New California) United Church Memorial Fund.
