CRUICKSHANK, Moira Kathleen With broken hearts, we announce that our beloved Moira Kathleen Cruickshank, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2005. Her extraordinary journey was made possible by the loving and devoted support of her husband, David Massel, and her adored children, Michael, Karen, and Christopher. Moira is survived by her father, Dr. Lionel (Leo) Cruickshank, her brothers Iain (Patricia), Neil (Sumiko) and Roderick (Karen) and her nephew Graham. Moira was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Cruickshank (1994). Moira will be sorely missed by her mother-in-law Patricia Massel and her in-laws Cathie and Scott Brayley and their children David and Katie; Charlie Massel; Stephen Massel and Rose Massel and their children Christina, Mark and Robert; Michael and Cathie Massel and their children Jonathan, Jason and Meghan; Sue and Ian Skinner and their children Andrew, Peter and Joseph; and Bob Massel. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, William Massel (2002). Moira's lengthy illness did not define her but it did highlight the qualities that we loved so much about her - her indomitable spirit, tenacity and courage, her commitment to family and friends, and her wonderful sense of humour. She leaves us inspired. Moira's network of supportive and loving friends and colleagues gave her strength and encouragement. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday and Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London, ON, where a private family funeral service will be conducted. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Massel-Cruickshank Fund, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. "You may shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived."
