SHEPHERD, Colonel William J. (Jack) CD. On June 1, 2005 in his 90th year, Lt. Col. (Retired) R.C.A.P.C. CF Regular. Former Colonel Commandant, Royal Canadian Pay Corps and granted honourary rank of Colonel for life. Former acting Head, Social Services Department, Ottawa Board of Education. Loving and beloved husband of Dorothy A. Murphy for 65 years, and dear father of J. Keith Shepherd (Heather) and Judith (Judy) Elaine Scullion (Borden). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Michael (Kerry), and David Shepherd, Cindy Gutierrez (Nestor) and Dwayne Scullion (Teresa), and great-grandchildren Brook, Mickerra and Hailey Shepherd, and Isaac and Brandon Gutierrez. Also sadly missed by other relatives and several cherished friends. Predeceased by sisters, Gladys Byers and Florence Simpson. In his younger years, Jack was active in St. Martin's Anglican Church and at various times, he was a Cub leader, a member of the counting committee, a founding member and past president of the B.A.C. Chapter, Rector's Warden and a delegate to Synod. He was awarded the Governor General's warrant for Scouters as Cub Master of another Cub Pack. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday, June 3rd, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 3 p.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Christie Lake Camp for Boys and Girls or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
