TAYLOR, James Frederick (Fred) Peacefully in Westbank, BC on June 1, 2005, on his 90th birthday, James Frederick, beloved husband of the late Adele Gorrie, passed away. Dearly loved father of Michael (Sheila) of Westbank, Gary (Wendy) of Ottawa, and Bob (Dawn) of Pheonix, Arizona. Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Susan), Ken (Melissa), Julie (Mike Beyea), Stephen, and Jill (Scott Smith). Proud great-grandfather of Willow, Ewan, Corbin and Grant. Dear brother of Mary Wilmot of Woodstock, Ontario and Bill (Doreen) of London, Ontario. Predeceased by his brother Garrett. Fred was a member of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters, the Governor General's Footguards and the Lord Strathcona's Horse Regiments and served in both World War II and the Korean War, rising to the rank of Major. Following his army career, Fred joined the staff of George Brown Community College in Toronto, and retired as Dean of the Graphic Arts Department. Following his retirement, Fred and Adele moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and subsequently to Kelowna, BC. A Memorial Service will be held at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home in Woodstock, Ontario on Monday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. For those wishing, donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Salvation Army or the Canadian Cancer Society.
