MOYER, Irene Marvin (nee Hawley-Simkin) Irene, devoted wife of 58 years to Russel Brett Moyer, passed away peacefully in her 81st year on May 31st, 2005 in Smiths Falls, ON. Born in Edmonton on June 29th, 1924, she was the cherished daughter of James Marvin Hawley and Hannah Harper, as well as stepfather Albert Simkin, all pre-deceased. She will be missed by her brother Donald Simkin and sisters Audrey Cook and Barbara Day, all from British Columbia. Irene was also the loving mother of Donna (Douglas Nesbitt) of Perth, ON, Deborah (Rhett Lawson) of West Brome, PQ, Denise (Gregory Miall) of Frankville, ON and Ray of Carleton Place, ON. She has left a legacy of love with her grandchildren, Keri and Kenneth Nesbitt, Jamie and Holly Lawson, Jillian and Russell Miall and Mackenzie and Kandace Moyer. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Jessica Lamshoeft and Ethan Grenier. Irene also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Irene was a Registered Nurse graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital, North Bay, ON. She nursed for 45 years in various hospitals including NDMC, Ottawa, ON and the Almonte Nursing Home. There will be an informal gathering of family and friends at the Colonel By apartment building at 40 Pearl Street in Smiths Falls to celebrate Irene's life on Sunday, June 12th at 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
