GIROUX, Joan Frances, CND (Sister St. Margaret of Mary). Passed away at Villa Marguerite, Pierrefonds, QC on June 9, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Francis Giroux and the late Mary Elizabeth Trottier. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary. She leaves to mourn her loving sister, Patricia Wood of Burlington, Ontario and many cherished nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her former companions in Japan and sorely missed by the sisters at Villa Marguerite. Sister Joan began her teaching career in Ontario, having taught at Notre Dame, Toronto, Cathedral School, Kingston and having served as principal at St. Theresa's school in Ottawa. In 1956, Sister Joan went to Japan where she spent 47 happy years teaching English in Fukushima and Tobata. She returned to Canada in 2003 to retire at Villa Marguerite. The wake will be held at the Funeral Parlour: 14370 Pierrefonds Blvd, Pierrefonds on June 10, 2005 from 14:00 to 16:00 and 19:00 to 21:00 with a Virgil service starting at 20:00. The Eucharistic Celebration will take place at St. Suzanne's Church, 9501 Gouin Blvd West, Pierrefonds at 10:00 a.m. on June 11, 2005. Thence to Cote des Neiges Cemetery, Montreal for burial.
