ATKINSON, Donald M. P.Eng After a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer, Donald Atkinson died peacefully on June 8, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Andree Pelletier, son Douglas (Angela) of Toronto, daughter Lynn (Jack) of Fredericton, NB, step-daughter Claude (Gary) of Jasper, Alberta, and grandchildren Phillip, Sylvie, Thomas, Julie, Diana, and Alexandra. Don was a telecommunications pioneer, a central member of the Bell Telephone Think Tank in the 50s, 60s and 70s, who contributed significantly to the development of many of the technological marvels we use today. In his retirement he enjoyed solving peoples' computer problems and teaching computer skills to seniors at the Kanata Seniors Centre. According to his wishes, there will be no funeral. In memoriam donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 6/10/2005 - 6/11/2005
