DORE, Gerald Leopold Alexandre Gerry died peacefully after a brief illness on June 11, 2005, age 56. Son of Gerard Dore and Cecilia Phillips of Ville LaSalle, Quebec, he was predeceased by his father and is survived by his mother, sisters Teresa (David Flemming), Ottawa and Adele (Glenn Hebert), Ville LaSalle and by brothers Tom (Dawn Pederson), Regina and John (Frannory McNevan), Lachine and dear friend Virginia Maloney, Ottawa. He is also survived by niece Claire Dore, by nephews, Matthew Flemming, Michael Flemming, Jackson Dore, by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and by many friends and colleagues from his nearly 30 years with Parks Canada where Gerry worked as Chief of Legislation and Regulations. Sincere thanks to the staff of Ward 5B, Ottawa Civic Hospital, for the care and kindness shown to Gerry and members of his family. Gerry's life will be celebrated at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road on Wednesday, June 15 with visitation at 12:00 noon followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Another visitation will be held at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home in Lachine on Friday, June 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at Eglise St-Nazaire, Ville LaSalle at 1:00 p.m. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
