LEVELTON, Clifford Roland Born in Bella Coola, B.C. November 22, 1922. World War II Veteran (R.C.A.F). He was 34 years with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. He started as a Fisheries Officer at Butedale, B.C. in 1947 rising to the position of the Director of Conservation and Protection in Ottawa in 1966, then Director General of Operations in 1971. Retired from Fisheries in 1978. He then served on an Advisory Committee for research for several years. He also worked for an east coast fishing company, serving on their Board of Directors. He leaves his wife Thelma (nee Cosgrove), daughters Janice and Colleen, grandson Timothy, brother Bruce, nephews Paul and Chris and niece Martha. A Memorial Service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow. Interment to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
