TYO, George Mr. George William Tyo of Cornwall at the Janet MacDonell Pavilion, Cornwall on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 age 82 years. (World War II Veteran; Former City of Cornwall Citizen of the Year; former St. John's Ambulance co-ordinator and instructor; and Retired Emergency Measures co-ordinator for S.D. & G.). Beloved husband of the late Betty (Closs) Tyo. Loved father to Archie Tyo (Betty), Morrisburg; Bill Tyo (Suzanne), Cornwall; Rene Tyo (Denise), Brockville; John Tyo, Kingston; Jimmy Tyo (Sharon), Vanastra, On.; George Tyo Jr. (Norma), Cornwall; Anne Searson (Ken), Ottawa; Elizabeth Blais, Cornwall; Georgina Moore (Wesley), Monkland; Irene Tyo (Jean Guy Lalonde); Barbara Lalonde (Denis); Madeline Regnier (Carm) all of Cornwall; and Alice Wheeler (Douglas) of St. Andrew's West. Sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by one brother Roy Tyo (Norma), Cornwall; and by one brother-in-law Maurice Kyer of Cornwall. Predeceased by his parents Archibald (Archie) and Claire (Paradis) Tyo; one daughter Noreen; one sister Julia Kyer; and one brother Rene Tyo. Resting at the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall from 2 p.m.on Thursday, June 16th. (The Mass of the Ressurection with Commendation and Farewell will be Celebrated in St. Columban's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.) Rite of committal at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, Cornwall. Visitation Thursday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. and Friday 9-9:30 a.m. If so desired contributions to the Janet MacDonell Pavilion or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
