AUSTIN, John Joseph. Of Fort Erie, formerly of Laval West, Quebec, passed away June 17, 2005, after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. John will be sadly missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 56 years, Phyllis Gauld, his children Beverley (Hal) Heinz, Helen (the late Rod) Heinz, John Patrick (Fiona) and Richard. He will also be missed by his nine grandsons, very special granddaughter Sarah and two great-grandsons. Friend and grandpa to Sandy, Trina, Mary, Trish and Seona. John will especially be missed by his brother and friend Albert and sister-in-law June. Survived by sisters-in-law Denise, Amy and Felice Gauld, brother-in-law Joe and Pam. Remembered also by many nieces and nephews. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie, Ontario entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Father Randy Gallant will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Rite of Committal to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Parish prayers in the funeral home on Monday evening at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Unit "C" of the Greater Niagara General Hospital, Niagara Falls Ontario, cards available at the funeral home.
