OBITUARY TILLIE COHEN 1916 - 2005 Tillie Cohen of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the age of eighty-eight years. Tillie was born in Fort Francis, ON on August 17, 1916 and as a young girl moved to Montral with her family. There she met her future husband Harry and they married in 1938. Her son Robert was born not long after, followed by her daughter Susan (Ellen Sue). In the following years she welcomed her two grandsons, Adam and Seth, whom she loved dearly. Tillie was a caring, giving, generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and community citizen. Tillie volunteered for the Red Cross in Canada during World War II and always kept giving back to others through her ongoing volunteer work in the community with Hadassah Bnai Brith (President) and ORT. We will always remember her soft strength, courageous pioneer spirit and selflessness, always putting others first. Tillie will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Cindy Cohen of Atlanta, GA; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Usher Barnoff of Calgary; grandsons, Adam Cohen of Atlanta, GA and Dr. Seth Cohen (Laura Jane) of Alexandria, VA; two brothers, Morris (Lucy) Miller and Ben (Sarah deceased) Miller; two sisters, Rose (Alec) Katz and Arlene (Ted) Wise; sister-in-law Norma Miller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews; and other family and friends. Tillie was predeceased by her husband Harry in August of 2003; parents Goldie and Isaac Miller; and brother Harry Miller. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel (1702 - 17 Avenue S.W.) on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Jewish Cemetery (122 Shalom Way S.W.). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to ORT Charity.
