Mrs. Gladys M. Vardy (née Buffett) April 05, 1923 - June 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) VARDY, Gladys M. - 82, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Friday, June 24, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Belleoram, NL, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Eleanor (Burdock) Buffett. Gladys' greatest loves were her family and her church. She was a member of the Mother's Union, and a past member of St. Luke's Church Altar Guild. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, generosity, and gentle nature. She is survived by sons, Bill (Joanne), Bridgewater; Wayne (Debbie), St. John's, NL; daughters, Eleanor (Bert) Munden, Dartmouth; Pam (Steve) Fenton, Dartmouth; Gail (Derick) Stoddard, Fall River; grandchildren, Jason, Lee, Jillian, Linden, Christopher, Stephen, Tanya, Angela, Melissa, Colin, Ryan, Bradley, Gregory; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Harris, Rupert, Gordon, George; sisters, Winnie, Eleanor, Joyce, Maxine; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Captain William Vardy; brother, Gerald in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A Eucharistic Celebration of Gladys' life will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Dartmouth, Rev. Carolyn Tomlin officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Veterans' Avenue, Dartmouth.
