PHINNEY, KENNETH (BILL) A. 1931-2005 - Sackville , N.B.- Kenneth (Bill) A. Phinney, age 74, passed away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 after a brief illness. Born in Sackville, N.B. on January 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Ross and Jemima (Campbell) Phinney. Bill was employed with the Enterprise Foundry Co. Ltd. for most of his career where he held various positions, including Plant Superintendent. He was also employed with the Town of Sackville and the Tantramar Planning District Commission as Building Inspector until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid bird watcher at his home on Weldon Street and took great pleasure in a challenging puzzle. Bill particularly enjoyed children but none more than his two grandchildren, Brooke and Kyle who will dearly miss their Grampy. Bill was a proud long-time Member and Honorary Member of the Sackville Fire Department and still enjoyed his visits there until his illness. In 1988, he received the Fire Services Exemplary Service Medal for thirty years' services. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of forty-nine years, Phyllis (Patterson) Phinney of Sackville, N.B.; his two sons, Mark (Cindy) Phinney of Quispamsis, N.B. and Chris (Shelley) Phinney of Lawrencetown , N.S.; his sister Ruby Ayer and his two brothers, Jim (Dolly) Phinney and Otis (Edna) Phinney all of Sackville; and his grandchildren Brooke and Kyle Phinney. He was predeceased by his three sisters , Eva Brown, Connie Carter, Cavell Mesheau, and infant Margaret and by two brothers Donald and Gerald. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 3, 2005 from 7-9 PM at Campbell's Funeral Home, Sackville, N.B. The funeral service will take place on Monday, July 4, 2005 at 2 PM, at Campbell's Funeral Home, with Rev. Ian MacFarlane officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Sackville Fire Department Equipment Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of ones choice. [Telegraph-Journal]
