Robert G. Long FREDERICTON, NB - The death of Robert "Bob" Gordon Long, husband of Annette (Dupuis) Long occurred on July 1, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Edmundston, NB, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Marie (Theriault) Long. Bob owned and operated a frozen food distribution company and was an auditor for the Workers Compensation Board. He was the mayor of Clair, NB from 1979-1983. Bob was a member of Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and playing with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by one son, Richard Long (Josée Lord) of Dieppe, NB; two daughters, Michèle Long-Demers (Marc Demers) of Fredericton, NB and Jocelyne Long (Alain Murray) of Beaupré, QC; five grandchildren, Marc-André and François Long, Justin and Isabelle Demers and Jacob Murray; one brother, Gary (Jeannette) Long of Edmundston, NB; one sister, Eileen (Peter) Rooney of Fredericton, NB; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 4 pm with Father Emery Brien as celebrant. The interment will take place at a later date in the Clair Parish Cemetery, Clair, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
