Mr. Carl Parker Dodge January 21, 1921 - July 01, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) DODGE, Carl Parker DODGE, Carl Parker - Fall River, went home to be with the Lord July 1, 2005, in the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Halifax, January 21, 1921, he was the oldest son of the late Charles and Jessie (Mosher) Dodge. He was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church in Fall River. Carl is survived by his wife Joy (Wegener); daughter, Christine Anne (David Wash), Trenton, Ont.; sons, Carl Bruce (Catherine), Halifax; Alan Keith, Fall River; grandson, Duane Thomas (Kendra), Beaver Bank; brother, Ronald Mosher Dodge. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Lloyd "Bud" Dodge, and daughter-in-law, Wendy Lee Dodge. Carl was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Canada, England, Italy and Northwest Europe. He was a member of Dieppe Branch No. 90 Royal Canadian Legion in Waverley. Prior to his retirement in 1976 from DND, he was Project Manager with Management Consulting Services, Maritime Command Atlantic. During his younger years he was active in local sports, especially hockey and softball. He was involved in organizing and served as president of the Riverlake Hockey Club devoting many hours coaching the young men of the community. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, gardening and traveling. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, in St. John's United Church, Fall River, Rev. Bob Chapman and Janice Frame officiating. Reception to be held directly following the service in the church hall. Private family burial to take place at a later date in Fall River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to a charity of one's choice.
