DOWUONA-HAMMOND, FREDERICK NOI- Of McKay Street died peacefully at his residence on July 5, 2005. He was born in Ghana, West Africa and was the son of the late Arthur Hanson Dowuona and Beatrice Maku Dowuona and beloved husband to Elizabeth Dowuona-Hammond "Betty" for 48 years. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1993, Frederick was employed as an accountant for 45 years with his last position as an Assistant Chief Accountant. He loved singing with the British Council, enjoyed reading and writing and was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church. In addition to his wife "Betty", he is survived by two sons; Gabriel Hanson Dowuona-Hammond and Laurence Jonas Dowuona-Hammond, five daughters; Fredrica Peace Dowuona-Hammond, Margaret Madaline Dowuona-Hammond, Christiana Wilhemina Dowuona-Hammond, Amma Helena Dowuona-Hammond and Kate Emily Dowuona-Hammond. Also survived by one brother; Emmanual Bruce-Micah, three sisters; Mary Bruce-Micah, Darkua Bruce-Micah and Charlotte Bruce-Micah as well as several grandchildren and one cousin; Mary Darku. Resting at A.W. Cavanagh Funeral Home 91 Leinster Street with visiting on Thursday July 14, 2005 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Saint Ann's Catholic Church on Friday July 15, 2005 at 11:00am followed by interment in Fernhill Cemetery. www.awcavanagh.com [Telegraph-Journal]
