Passed away at Richmond Terrace Nursing Home in Amherstburg after a brief illness, with his loving wife Norma at his side. Predeceased by his mother Elise (nee Collins)(1978), his father Frederick C. Sutherland (1930), brother Freddie and sister Elizabeth. Bob was a longtime executive at Uniroyal Canada, Executive Director for 10 years of the World Junior Curling Championship, a Community Volunteer Extraordinaire, former President of the Amherstburg Chamber of Commerce, Initiator of the Amherstburg Garden Tour (1985) the A.A.M. Rhododendron Committee, and was also the Amherstburg Citizen of the Year (1989). Visitation at the JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg (736-2134) on Wednesday July 13 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.. Parish Prayers 7:30 p.m. Funeral Thursday July 14, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home to St. John The Baptist Church for Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Fr. Ted Gatfield officiating. Interment St. John The Baptist Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy donations may be made to St. John The Baptist Restoration Fund or the Charity of Your Choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Bob Sutherland in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held Sunday September 25, 2005. All are welcome.
