Mr. Joseph "Joe" Ernest Gould August 08, 1934 - July 13, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Campbell's Funeral Home Joseph Ernest Gould age 70, of Amherst passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Ernest and Myrtle (Amon) Gould. Joe worked at Douglas Hardware, Amherst in his earlier years and then worked at Eddy Hardware. He was employed in retail as manager at K.P. Allen in Amherst. He and his wife owned and operated Highland Grocery on Park Street for many years. Joe managed and coached West Highland Rangers Fast Ball Team in Amherst. He is survived by his wife the former Doreen Spence, one daughter Joy Gould of Amherst, four sons Tony (Susan) of Prince Edward Island, Larry (Sue Ellen), Ricky (Sheila) and Matthew (Kim) all of Amherst, one sister Sarah (Albert) Spence of Amherst, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Joe was predeceased by one son Terry. Family viewing will take place on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home. Amherst. His remains will be cremated. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel, (667-9906) 98 Church St., Amherst with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Family flowers only. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation or Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation Palliative Care Unit.www.campbellsfh.
