Vilma Sapa July 07, 1925 - July 05, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Vilma Sapa left this life to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, after a short illness at the age of 79. Vilma was born in Jumprava, Latvia on July 7, 1925. After the war, she moved to England and got married to Petro and had a son Peter who predeceased her in 1987. In 1952 she moved to Montreal and lived there for 30 years. In 1979, she moved to Calgary, Alberta and has resided there ever since. Vilma lost her loving husband Petro in 1993 due to cancer. Vilma is survived by her only sister in England as well as many nieces and nephews in Latvia. Vilma was a member of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and also at the Evangelic Latvian Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held at Leyden’s Funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 1:45 p.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
