Fernande "Fern" Wallace (née St. Pierre) June 24, 1916 - July 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel (Tecumseh) Passed away peacefully on July 14, 2005 at home at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Vernal. Loving daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. A.T. St. Pierre. Predeceased by sisters Rodolpha "Rod" and her husband Louis McQueen and Louise St. Pierre. Survived by her very devoted niece Martha Ann Hoffman of Livonia, MI, special granddaughter Tammy Wright of North Miami Beach, FL, and special nephew Kevin Burns, Mayor of North Miami. Will also be missed by her loving step-daughter Nancy and Herbert Wright of Traverse City, MI, and two dear grandsons Tom and John Wright and 1 great-grandson Tom Wright Jr., many dear nephews and nieces: Dan McQueen, Chris McQueen and Nina Lary all of California, Rob Flint of North Miami, FL, Danielle and husband Jeff Bessesen, Colleen McQueen, Brad McQueen and wife Stacey and great-grandnephews and nieces: Alex, Danny and Reece Bessesen, Lexie and Brad McQueen Jr. all of Livonia, MI, Autumn Hope of North Miami Florida. Fernande was a teacher in Windsor at St. Edmond's and St. Rosaire Schools for many years prior to marrying Vern Wallace in 1955, and moving to North Miami, FL. While in Florida she taught elementary school English, French and Spanish for many years. In 2001 Fern returned to live permanently in Windsor. At the time of her death she was voluntarily tutoring English to Spanish Immigrants at the request of her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. from the Marcotte Funeral Home & Chapel 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada (519-735-2830) to St. Anne Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. In kindness memorial donations to the Cancer Society, M.S. Society or to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Fern Wallace in the Marcotte Heritage Forest.
