Douglas Gerrald Riley June 14, 1931 - July 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing our loving, gentle and kind husband, father and grandfather. Born on June 14, 1931 in Sedgewick, Alberta to Victor and Cosy Riley, Doug was the youngest of five children. His memory will always be cherished by his beloved family, wife Sandy; son John (Tamara); daughter Ali; stepsons Syd and Brad (Laura); and granddaughters Jodie and Sheena, all of Calgary. Doug is also survived by his sister Willene (Bert) Becker of Abbotsford, B.C. brother-in-law Evan Roberts, mother of his children, Fern (Peter) Hunter and numerous dear family members. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Eletha Roberts and brothers Bill and Jim Riley. Doug will be lovingly remembered by many family and friends who admired him for his honesty, integrity, thoughtfulness, gentle spirit and wonderful smile. He touched the lives of all who knew him, we will miss him so much. A memorial service celebrating and honoring Doug’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 20th, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 7102 – 14 Avenue S.W, Calgary. If family and friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to First Lutheran Church.
