Mr. Oswald "Ozzie" Ottavio Panichelli October 19, 1925 - July 08, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Richmond Funeral Home Born October 19, 1925, and passed away peacefully on July 8, 2005, at the age of 79. Ozzie was born in Vancouver, B.C. He was the eldest son of Giuseppe and Maria Panichelli. As a young man growing up in East Vancouver,, Ozzie was an exceptional athlete in track and field and rugby. His four sons were greatly influenced by his athletic skills and by his attitude towards sports. He did everything in his power to support their involvement in hockey and football, including generously volunteering his time. He was also a great member of the St. John's Ambulance. In addition, he loved and excelled in classical guitar. Ozzie had an interesting career in the steel fabricating business as a draftsman, designer and purchaser, working for several employers in Vancovuer and Richmond. He is predeceased by his wife Dora and his siter Anita. This loving husband of 23 years is sadly missed by his wife Florence; his children; Joe (Cathy), John (Barb), Steve (June), Len (Diana); grandchildren: Sarah, Paul, Claire, Tanya,Candice, Johnny, Michael, Marcel, Andrea and Ryan; brothers Mario (Rose), Albert (Mary), (George Campbell); and Florences' family: Dennis, Florence (mother-in-law), Tony (Myrna), and Barbara Moffat. He will be greatly missed by his family. Prayers will be held at St. Paul's Parish, 8251 St. Alban's Road, Richmond, BC, on Thursday, July 14th, 2005, at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Parish on Friday, July 15th, 2005, at 10:00 am. A reception will be held in the Parish Hall. Interment, Gardens of Gethsemani, South Surrey, B.C.
