Bill McLean May 01, 1917 - July 20, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Fair Haven Funeral Home Bill McLean ,aged 88, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on July 20, 2005 after a brief illness. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Patricia Thomas and his grand-daughters Lauren and Rebecca Thomas. He will also be greatly missed by Tim Thomas, Brian Kinney and Kelsey Kinney. He was pre-deceased by his wife Margaret McLean (MacMaster). He was born in Troy, Nova Scotia , the son of Margaret Moore and John McLean. He and his family subsequently moved to Moncton. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy on the HMS Stormont destroyer. This ship was later purchased by Aristotle Onassis and turned into the yacht Christina. After the war Bill entered the Federal Civil Service. He was fortunate (as well as his family) to be posted to several interesting cities including Washington D.C. during the late 1960's. He returned to Moncton when he retired. A memorial service will be held at the Fairhaven Funeral Home, Monday, July 25th at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Lung Association or The Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. The family is extremely grateful to all the staff connected to the Palliative Care Unit and their excellent care.
