Albert Eugene Maik October 08, 1944 - July 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Al Maik passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005 in Calgary, Alberta with his family by his side. Al was born and raised in the Elk Point / Derwent area. He lived in Edmonton and then moved to Drayton Valley to pursue a career in the Oil and Gas Industry. He especially enjoyed his work with OG Construction. Al will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Linda of 35 years; three children Angela (Curtis) Jobs, Cindy (Chad) Skogen and Greg (Evelyn) Maik; and special granddaughter Skye Lynn Skogen. Al is also survived by four brothers, two sisters, and many other extended family members. He was predeceased by one sister and his parents Mike and Mary. A Celebration of Al's Life was held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 4604-50th Ave., Drayton Valley, on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Quinn Adams officiating.
