Mr. James "Jim" Farnworth July 15, 1918 - July 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mr. Jim Farnworth, aged 87 years, resident of Grandview Lodge passed away on Thursday July 21st 2005. Born in Atherton, England he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. James and Emily Farnworth. He was raised and educated there. Jim worked in the coalmines in England for several years. He joined the British Army in 1937 and served with the 2nd Battalion East Lancashire Unit serving in India. Jim was discharged in 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1947 to Fort William. He was employed with the Saskatchewan Grain Elevators for 21 years retiring in August 1982. Jim enjoyed going south every winter and camping at Oliver Lake in the summer. He was a member First Church United, a member of Branch 6 Legion and the Elks Lodge. Survived by Step Daughter Gail Hogan (John) of Thunder Bay; Step Son Brian Phillips (Sharon) of Thunder Bay; Step Son-in-law Wil Salo; grandchildren Sean and Sherry Hogan, Jodie (Danny) Cataldo, Kevin Phillips, Lisa Breiland-Miller (Michael), Lou-Ann (Delbert) Archer and Dana (Barbie) Salo., great grandchildren Tiffany, Samantha and Krysten Hogan, Dylan, Bryson and Kyla Cataldo, Arron and Evan Breiland, Megan and Maddison Archer and Jessica Salo. Predeceased by his wife Mavis, Step Daughter Mayvise Salo, his parents, his first wife Elsie and a brother Walter. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services for Mr. James (Jim) Farnworth will be held on Tuesday August 2nd 2005 at 11 a.m. in Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre. Rev. Lloyd Ivany will officiate and interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.
