FOSS, RONALD DOUGLAS At the Veteran's Health Unit in Fredericton Ronald Douglas Foss passed away on July 27, 2005 at the age of 80. Born in Fredericton he was a son of the late Ernest Johnstone and Violet Greta (Drost) Foss. Ron began his military service career with the North Shore Regiment. His service took him overseas to Holland, Germany and England. Upon his return to Canada, Ron was employed as a woodsworker in British Columbia before returning to New Brunswick where he took a course in Heavy Duty Equipment. He worked as a mechanic for Tractors and Equipment Ltd until the 1980s when he left to go work in private woodlots in Boiestown, NB. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch - 4, enjoyed vegetable gardening and playing the harmonica. He is survived by his wife Minnie Foss of Tracyville; four daughters Dixie Lee Butler (Andrew) of Hay River, NWT, Sandra Dee Foss and her partner Guy Lavoie of Burtts Corner, Pauline Knox of Fredericton, Isabel McDonald (John) of Charters Settlement; a son Ronald "Douglas" Jr of Tracyville; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by a daughter Wanda; and four brothers. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Thursday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday July 29, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the New Maryland United Church with Rev. Bill MacLeod officiating. Interment will be held at the New Maryland United Church Cemetery. Donations to the Parkinsons Foundation, Diabetes Association, Veteran's Health Unit or New Maryland United Church would be appreciated.
