BROWN, George Cameron "Cam". Passed away at his home in Newport at the age of eighty-eight on Thursday, June 30, 2005. He was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada on August 7, 1916, the son of George H. and Myrtle (Paisley) Brown, Cam was a graduate of McGill University School of Engineering and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He worked for many years for Abitibi-Price in Canada, retiring in 1971. Following his retirement he moved to Hill Haven Farm in North Troy. On September 13, 1941 he married the former Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Barrett, who predeceased him on May 15, 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Brown-Couture and her husband Michael of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, his grandsons, James Couture of Wareham, Massachusetts, and Quintin Couture and his wife Jessica of Wareham, Massachusetts, his brother, Russell Brown of Mississauga, Ontario, his sister, Margaret Norton of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, contributions in Cam's memory may be made to North Country Hospital, 189 Prouty Drive, Newport, VT 05855.
