MILLAR, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Moran) Peacefully in hospital at Carleton Place, Ontario on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her first husband Clifford James Thornton. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Edmund Millar. Loving mother of Clifford Thornton (Betty) of Westbridge, B.C., Sharon Bassett (Ron) of Niagara Falls, Douglas Thornton (Nancy) of Kanata, Brian Thornton (Rosa) of Haileybury, Ronald Millar of Carleton Place and Maureen Gourley. Dear grandmother of Nina, Cliff, Angie, Vanessa, Nikki, Kristen, Geoff, Scott, Shawn, Vincent, Tony, Robby, Cassandra and Jesse. Great-grandmother of seven. Survived by her sisters Dorothy Speers of Elora and Ruth Heeney of Ottawa. Predeceased by her brothers Curtis and Ron and sisters Lois and Marilyn. Friends may call at the ALAN R. BARKER FUNERAL HOME, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Blair Corcoran officiating.
