Marie Elisabeth POIRIER

SOBOL, Marie-Elisabeth (nee Poirier). Peacefully on July 9, 2005 at home in her eighty-eighth year, with the quiet dignity in which she lived; after a long and courageous struggle with Parkinsons' Disease, she left the loving arms of her daughters and was carried by the angels to heaven. Devoted and beloved wife of the late Thomas Sobol, Sydney, N.S. She was the youngest in the family of the late Theophile and Marie Poirier, Cheticamp, N.S. Predeceased by her sisters Annie Aucoin (Dan), Antoinette and Marie-Rose Poirier, Cheticamp, N.S., and her brother Joseph Poirier, Sydney, N.S. Deeply mourned and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Anne-Marie Sobol, Rose-Marie and Max Halperin, Montreal. Also left to mourn are nieces and nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, step-grand and great-grand children, her loving sister-in-law Claire Poirier, Sydney, N.S. and many special friends. The family extends deep gratitude to Dr. Loan Lam, Dr. D.H. Dalton and Dr. J. Morias for their dedication and kindness to the family over the years; also the Home Care and Palliative Care Depts. of CLSC Metro. Dearest Mama, your joyful laugh, radiant smile and twinkling eyes are with us always. Visitation will take place at the Wray Walton Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke St. W., Montreal (514) 483-2320 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday July 11, 2005, followed by a religious service in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday July 12 at 11 a.m., thence to Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Crematorium.
