Antonio VARANO

VARANO, Antonio. Peacefully on Saturday July 16, 2005 at the age of seventy-eight. Beloved husband of Rosa Ortona. Loving and devoted father of Laura (Claude Asselin) and Maria (Rocco Carosella). Cherished grandfather of Jonathan, Jessica, Michael and Ariana. Dear brother of Fillipina and Concetta. Respected brother-in-law of Caterina and Vincenzo Ortona, Pasquale Ortona and Armando Miriello. He will be sadly missed many nephews, nieces, friends, neighbours and acquaintances. Born November 12, 1926 in Isca Sull'Ionio, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 to pursue a better life for himself and his family. A man well respected for his knowledge and wisdom, he will fondly be remembered as a pioneer, gardener, hunter, wine-maker and much more. Funeral service Tuesday July 19 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de-la-Defense Church, Dante Street. He will be laid to rest at Rideau Memorial Gardens, Sources Blvd. Donations to Cancer Research or the Jewish Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
