CONNELL, Irene Ann (nee Benzaitis) Tuesday, July 19, 2005, Irene Connell, age 68, beloved wife of David Joseph Ronald Connell. Daughter of the late Joseph and Katharine Benzaitis. Daughter-in-law of Ben and the late Agnes Connell. Her numerous family members and friends will remember Irene as a gregarious adventurer who loved to travel to discover new places and food. The passionate tireless volunteer who spent a large part of her later life helping raise awareness and money for good causes, the intelligent no nonsense teacher who loved small children and did not hesitate to "adopt" friends children as her own and, finally, the religious person who now walks with God. Irene will be remembered and deeply missed. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 585 Somerset Street (centretown) Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday to Blessed Sacrament Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery. In Memoriam donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Canadian Diabetes Association or the SCOHSF - St. Vincent's Pavillion appreciated.
