Nelson James LARSON

LARSON, Nelson James Peacefully on July 18, 2005, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Rita (nee Tremblay). Nelson and Rita celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2005. Loving father of Marc (Karyn - nee Major) and Carole Brooks (Brooker). Cher-ished grandfather of David Robert Larson, Michael James Larson, and Alexandre Nelson Brooks. Son of the late Frank and the late Ruth Larson (nee Park). Dear brother of Norman (Jean) of Hamilton, Audrey (Nick Galanchuk) of Toronto, Bernice Irving (Robert) of Holland Landing, and Arthur of Toronto. Predeceased by brother Douglas (Anne Faulkner) and sister Aileen Sims (Donald). Survived by many nieces and nephews, all originally from the greater Toronto area. Nelson was employed by Richardson Greenshields of Canada in Ottawa as a stockbroker and investment advisor for thirty years. He retired in 1994 and then pursued his special and diverse interests that included the Canadian Stock Market, British Literature, book collecting, as well as thoroughbred horse racing. He thoroughly enjoyed his years in retirement and travelled often with Rita to many of their favorite vacation sites. Nelson had a very close relationship with all of his family and was especially proud of his three young grandchildren who are just starting to make their way in the world. Special thanks to Dr. Vijay Moonje, Dr. Derek Jonker and Dr. Virginia Hurdon for their excellent treatment and care. Visitation will take place at Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank Street), on Friday July 22, 2005 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday July 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, donations can be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
