LEVASSEUR, Madeleine Passed away peacefully in her sleep, in Ottawa General Hospital, Friday, July 15, 2005. Madeleine Pachet, beloved wife of Omer LeVasseur for 58 and one-half years; loving mother of Leslie Robertson, Louise LeVasseur (Claude Panneton) and Lewis LeVasseur (Tara Alexander); lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Keean, Jason (Angie McDonnell), Byron, Mason, Alexander and Emma; and by her great-grandchildren, Benjamyn and Kassia; dear sister of Jeanne Jobin, Marie Binne and Nini Dondo; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Maddie had a remarkable teaching career spanning more than 40 years. She taught in rural Manitoba, northern Manitoba, many schools in the city of Ottawa, owned and operated her own kindergarten in the province of New Brunswick, and her particular love was the Inuit children of the Northwest Territories. She also had an enjoyable, adventurous and memorable life with Omer in the Navy, where they developed an untold number of friendships. A mass in memory of Maddie will take place Tuesday, July 19 in Holy Cross Church, Ottawa, at 12:15 p.m. Interment Canadian National Military Cemetery, Beechwood, Ottawa. In memoriam donations to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario appreciated. We, the family, wish to thank each and every person who celebrated the mass for Maddie on Tuesday. The love and support we received is without bounds. A special thank you to the Knights of Columbus for your grace, to the volunteers at Holy Cross Church for the put together for us and our guests, and to all of those who's attendance gave us strength.
