Elvie Lorraine Knickle September 28, 1924 - August 02, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) KNICKLE, Elvie Lorraine - 80, Halifax, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Advocate Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Hazel Rector. Elvie was an active member of the I.O.D.E. and Bethany United Church for many years. She was a devoted mother of Sandra (Gary) Forsythe, Bridgewater; Karen (Ed) Cramm, Halifax; Dr. Krisanne Mendelssohn, Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Kari Anne Glazier, Jamie and Josh Mendelssohn. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; brother, Walton Rector, and her sister in infancy, Jean. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
