Prakash Mulchand October 09, 1957 - August 03, 2005 Heroically on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, Prakash passed away at the age of 47. Survived by his mother, Shamdai. Prakash will be dearly missed by his Wife, Pamela; Children, Akezia, Narvon, and Nevin; Mother-in-law, Rita; Brothers and Sisters, Jean, Sorace, Kenneth, Lynette, Gupta, Annette, Julie, Dave; Nieces and Nephews; Friends and Neighbours, Co-workers and Teammates. Prak was born in Enmore, East Coast Demerara, Guyana. Prakash spent his younger years in Guyana where he attended Cove & John College and Guyana Technical School where he studied mechanical technology and quality control. He worked at Guyana Sugar Estates Ltd. in Demerara as a Mechanical Shop Supervisor. He married his lovely wife Pamela in 1987 just before he moved with daughter Akezia to Winnipeg, Canada in 1989. Pam and son Narvon followed a few short years later. Working at various industrial sites in the city he settled down at Motor Coach Industries where he worked 15 years in Quality Control and as a Plant Supervisor. Education being a priority of Prakash, he earned countless diplomas and certificates in Academics, Technical Training and Business Administration while working full time and raising his family. His son Nevin was born in 1996. Prakash was forever an outdoor enthusiast; He would fish and hunt whenever he was able. He was a regular on the cricket grounds at Assiniboine Park and when he was not there he could be found in the wee hours of the morning watching a test match. When Cricket was not being played then a boxing match was on the television. Prak was a very sociable person; it was a common occurrence to find him dancing at a get-together with his glass on his head. Everyone that knew Prakash will miss his personable mannerism, his constant smile, and his dedication to his family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Brian Sasenarine, Craig Thompson, the emergency services of Portage La Prairie, RCMP Sergeant Jim Mirza and staff, and the community of the Delta Beach Area. Funeral service will be at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wednesday, August 10th at 2:00 p.m. Wake Service is held nightly at 193 Redview Drive (off of St. Mary’s Road, south of Burland).
