SWAN, GENEVIE CHRISTINE The unexpected death of Genevie C. Swan (Dorcas) occurred on September 14, 2005 in Tweeside. Born in Harvey in 1924, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Maude (Little) Dorcas. She was predeceased by her husband Claude in 2002 and an infant daughter, Marion Rosalie. Gen, with her warm and friendly manner was well thought of and loved in her community and by all who knew her. She was an avid gardener and shared the fruit of her labor with many. She had a keen interest in nature, loved her baseball games and enjoyed a competitive game of Scrabble. She was involved in many church activities and was past president of the UCW and Harvey Community Hospital Aid. Gen is survived by a son, Stuart Swan (Brenda), Harvey; two daughters, JanetWatson (Randy), Tweedside and Susan Dubé (Gilles), Island View; two sisters, Gertrude Delaney (Douglas), McAdam and Marion Bartlett, St. Andrews; a brother-in-law, J. Elwood Swan (Jean), Saint John; grandchildren, Krista Dudka (Kevin), Upper Kingsclear, Kimberly Swan (Jeff Morrison), Saint John, Michael Watson (Tammy), Thomaston Corner, Tanya Swan (Derek Watson), Ontario, Steven Watson, Tweedside, David Watson, Australia, Claudia Dubé, Island View and Samuel Dubé, Island View; five great grandchildren; andseveral special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in the St. James Room of St. Andrew's United Church of Canada, 2350 Route 3, Harvey on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church on Sunday, September 18, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Interment will take place in Harvey Community Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Genevie, the family has suggested the building fund of St. Andrew's United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
